 A hatodik széria volt a sorozat történetének legsötétebb és legszomorúbb ciklusa. A főgonosz tulajdonképpen maga volt az élet, és a főhőseinknek fel kellett nőniük egytől egyig.
Willow ámokfutásának Xander vetett véget, a lehető legegyszerűbb módon, csak azt hajtogatta, hogy szereti, akármi történjék.
Sarah McLachlan dala akkor csendült fel, amikor Buffy (nem utolsó sorban a szimbolika miatt: a szezonnyitó részben is ezt tette, miután barátai feltámasztották) Dawn-nal karöltve kimászott a sírból és Willow Xander karjai közt zokogva igazi gyászba kezdett, ezzel zárva az utolsó előtti szériát...
